伍延文自言自语：

我的作品的确是野兽般狂野的笔墨，自由情感的宣泄。我的每一幅作品都是新的，每一幅作品既不重复别人，也不重复自己，正如大自然的每一个生命都具有自己的个性和生命形态一样。我常常对所谓传统派权威说：“我不愿意有其他画家与我有一模一样的风格和特征，我是一块天外来石，不容易被别人雕琢，我只能自己雕琢自己，自己完善自己，在这个世界上，我就是唯一的。”
